Sage & Onion Stuffing

Serves 4/6

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. (225 gr.) onions,
  • very finely chopped*
  • 1½ oz. (40 gr.) butter
  • 3 level tsp. dried sage
  • 1 tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 3 oz. (75 gr.) white breadcrumbs
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • *A small blender is useful for chopping the onions very finely.
  • This can be made the day before you want to use it. After spooning into the dish, cover and refrigerate and cook when you are ready.

Method

1

Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the onions and cook them for a few minutes (5 or 6) until they are transparent and softened.

2

Add the sage, parsley, breadcrumbs and seasoning, stirring well to combine the ingredients well.

3

Spoon into an ovenproof dish and when you are ready, bake in the oven at 180°C until browned, about 10-15 minutes.

4

When serving with a roast dinner, it doesn’t matter about the temperature being too high, just pop in the oven until browned.
