Apple Pizza

Ingredients
For the Base
- 200 gr. (8 oz.) self raising flour
- 50 gr. (2 oz.) butter/margarine
- 25 gr. (1 oz.) golden caster sugar
- Sparse 125 ml (¼ pt.) milk
- 1 lb. cooking apples or granny smiths
- 25 gr. (1 oz.) sultanas
- 25 gr. (1 oz.) walnuts
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Topping
- 25 gr. (1 oz.) coconut
- 25 gr. (1 oz.) demerara sugar
- Preheat oven to 180°C
- Grease and flour a 20/23 cm (8" or 9") tin
Method

Cook apples with sugar and a little water until soft. Leave to cool and if necessary get rid of any excess juice.

Rub the flour into butter/margarine until like fine breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar. Mix in enough milk to make into a soft dough.

Roll out gently and press into the tin.

Stir sultanas, walnuts and cinnamon into the apples and spread onto scone base in the tin.

Mix together the coconut and demerara sugar and sprinkle this topping over the apple.

Bake in the oven at 180°C. approx. 20-30 minutes, until the topping is golden.
